apparently acknowledging that plants are living creatures with a system of cells that acts as a nervous system and are able to form complex relationships with animals in order to further their own species is an argument against eating plants
Okay, guys, listen - I’m not saying you can’t eat plants, I’m saying if you’re going to grant the ability to feel pain and suffer to lobsters, which have no brains but a complex nervous system, and creatures such as sea urchins and starfish, which have no centralized nervous system but rather a distributed complex nervous system with no central brain, then the fact that scientists are discovering nervous system structures in plants that work similarly to our own should be blowing your mind.
But apparently it doesn’t matter because even if plants are sentient, they’re necessary to human survival and we can eat them, but we ‘don’t need’ to eat animals so they get to be free. Right.
It’s really funny really.
